OUR STORY

This company means more to us than just banging nails.

From the time John could walk, he shadowed his father with a toy hammer and trowel, instinctively drawn to the craft of building. A childhood spent working with wood, stone, and earth planted a seed that never left him.

Growing up in the 90s, however, John was steered in a different direction. Success, he was told, looked like a college degree, a pressed shirt, and a corner office. Trusting that blueprint, he earned his degree from Roger Williams University and went on to build an impressive career — leading some of the most respected remodeling, restoration, and landscaping firms in the Northeast. Over more than two decades, he oversaw hundreds of projects, sharpened his management skills, and rose to the C-suite. By every conventional measure, he had made it.

But something was missing. For all the contracts signed and milestones reached, and money made, John carried a quiet regret — a longing to have built things with his hands, not just overseen them on paper. And after years of managing organizations from the top, he became convinced that there was a better way to run a company: one built on deeper connection, greater craft, and a genuine relationship with the client.

That conviction became Bowen Masterworks.

The name is drawn from a place close to John's heart — Bowen's Wharf in Newport, Rhode Island, where he and his wife Lindsay first met as young students working restaurant jobs to fund their education. For John and Lindsay, Bowen represents everything they hold dear: love, passion, and a deep appreciation for things built to endure. It is no coincidence that those same values — permanence, intention, and beauty — are the foundation of every project they take on.

Bowen Masterworks is not your typical remodeling firm. The difference is felt from the very first conversation, because the difference begins at the core.
